Ultrasonic Cleaner RFQ Checklist: Get Comparable Factory Quotes
An ultrasonic cleaner quotation is only useful when it describes equipment that fits your application. Two suppliers may quote the same nominal tank capacity while offering different basket dimensions, ultrasonic power, controls, accessories and delivery terms.
For procurement teams, workshops and manufacturers, a clear request for quotation helps prevent these differences from being overlooked. Use the following checklist before comparing prices or approving a purchase.
1. Describe the Parts and Contamination
Tell the supplier what you need to clean, not just which machine size you want.
Include the part material, surface finish, maximum dimensions and typical contamination. Photographs can help explain the application, especially when parts have internal passages, threads or delicate features.
Identify whether the task involves machining oil, polishing residue, chips or another contaminant. Avoid assuming that one cleaning process will suit every material and surface treatment.
2. Specify Usable Space, Not Only Tank Capacity
Nominal capacity does not describe the space available inside a basket.
Request internal tank dimensions, basket dimensions and the recommended working liquid level. Explain whether you will process one large part or several smaller parts together.
If a fixture is required, include its dimensions and weight. Ask the supplier to confirm that the proposed loading arrangement is suitable before approving the equipment.
3. Explain Your Batch and Throughput Requirements
State the number of parts per batch and the production target per shift. Include time needed for loading, unloading, rinsing, drying and inspection.
Do not calculate throughput from the ultrasonic timer alone. Equipment operating intervals and the complete workflow must be considered.
Ask for the model-specific operating and cooling instructions. Do not assume that a benchtop cleaner supports continuous 24-hour operation.
4. Request an Exact Model Configuration
A product-family headline is not a complete specification. Ask the supplier to identify the exact model and list:
- Nominal capacity and usable basket dimensions
- Ultrasonic power
- Heating power, where applicable
- Total electrical requirements
- Frequency configuration and how frequencies are selected
- Timer, heating, degas and other included functions
- Voltage, plug and supplied accessories
Keep ultrasonic power, heating power and electrical input separate in the quotation. A larger wattage figure is not useful unless the supplier explains what it measures.
5. Agree on a Sample Evaluation
Where application performance is important, discuss testing with representative parts before committing to a production setup.
Define the required result and the method used to assess it. Ask the supplier to record the tested model, loading arrangement, cleaning solution, temperature, cycle duration and any rinsing or drying steps.
A successful test should be interpreted within those conditions. It should not automatically be treated as a guarantee for different parts, contamination or batch sizes.
For compatible instruments, describe the intended process as pre-sterilization cleaning—not sterilization.
6. Request Model-Specific Documents
List the documents your purchasing team needs and the destination market for the equipment.
Ask the supplier to identify which exact models each document covers. If a performance improvement is advertised, request the test report, comparison baseline and test conditions.
Distinguish equipment documentation from company-level management documents. A list of logos alone does not explain the scope of a claim.
7. Compare the Full Commercial Offer
Ask each supplier to separate equipment, accessories, packaging, shipping and any other quoted charges. Record the delivery destination and the stated shipping terms.
Separate order processing or production lead time from estimated transit time. Confirm the written warranty, return conditions and support process before purchasing.
This makes it easier to compare the complete offer instead of selecting a quote that appears cheaper because necessary items were omitted.
8. Send One Consistent RFQ
Use the same brief for every supplier:
We need an ultrasonic cleaning system for [part and material], with maximum part dimensions of [L × W × H]. The contamination is [type], and our target is [parts per batch and batches per shift]. Please recommend an exact model and provide basket dimensions, ultrasonic power, frequency options, electrical requirements, operating intervals, included accessories, relevant documentation and a quotation to [destination].
BIMOSONIC buyers can use the model comparison guide as a starting point, then submit an application inquiry with their part details. For factory-direct and OEM/ODM discussions, a precise application brief gives both sides a clearer basis for the quotation.
